To those who stumble upon this site...

QR (Quick Response) Scan Codes are still a relatively new phenomenon to most Americans. While they have been around for 10 years and are commonplace in Japan and Europe.

But in the USA, under 30% of mobile phone users have actually scanned one to see what happens.

You have seen them in magazines and newspapers and in big box and grocery stores and may have wondered what they were. Once you know you will be amazed at their possibilities.

They began as a method for Auto companies to better control their inventory when a traditional barcode was not enough.

Then some clever people started incorporating the massive amount of data capacity afforded in the format to a myriad of applications.

Imagine looking at a painting in a gallery... in the past you could look at a small card next to the artwork and see who painted it and when, or refer to your museum guide for further information. With a QR Code you would be able to watch a video of the artist painting, and discussing the emotions that brought forth the work of art you are beholding.

Or... a little less high brow... you scan a code on a box of cereal and see a commercial or download a coupon.

In some towns you will soon be seeing them on real estate signs and billboards.

Add one to a business card and you'll be ahead of your time.

QR Codes can be links to anything from a simple text message to an information sheet with links to your Facebook account name and other personal details you want to include. Want to send someone a link to your bands You Tube video... a QR COde is easier to use than a long website URL.

Soon, everywhere you go, there will be another use for a QR Code.

In order to be able to "read" a QR Code you need to download a free App for your phone or pad. There are Apps for Apple, for Android and for RIM, so you just need to Google or Bing to find one, download the application, and you'll be ready to start scanning.

To show you a few I have "created" for my newly acquired domains I started with one that is just information and a contact number
